Sliding Scale Hourly Fees, Based On Your Income

Step 1:

Community Lawyers of Iowa is committed into increasing access to legal services for lower income Iowans. Because of this commitment, we will adjust our normal hourly rate to account for the size of your household and your household income. See Steps 2 and 3 below to determine your sliding-scale hourly rate. 

Step 2: 

Use this online calculator to figure out where your income meets-up with the federal poverty guideline: 

Step 3: 

Use the results from the federal poverty guideline calculation from Step 2 to determine what your hourly rate would be: 

Normal Hourly Rate.........................................................................$300/hr

Income Between 280% and 320% ..............................................$250/hr

Income Between 240% and 280% ..............................................$230/hr

Income Between 200% and 240% ..............................................$210/hr

Income Between 160% and 200% ..............................................$190/hr

Income Between 120% and 160% ..............................................$170/hr

Income Between 0% and 120% ...................................................$150/hr [See Footnote]
